What is Herbal medicine and Pharmeteucial medicine? Why herbal medicine is better?

What is Herbal Medicine?

Herbal medicine is the practice of using plants to treat illness and improve one's overall health and well-being.

Herbs can interfere with other prescriptions, so they should be used with caution.

Always consult your primary care physician (GP) if you have any health concerns, and inform them of any herbal medicines you are using or considering using.

Never stop taking prescribed medications and replace them with herbs without first consulting your doctor.

When buying herbal remedies over the internet, be cautious. Herbal medications that are not controlled, such as some traditional folk remedies, may not be of the same quality or standard as regulated pharmaceuticals.

Side effects of Herbal medicine

Because herbal treatments are "natural," they may be misunderstood to be fully safe. This isn't always the case.

Herbal drugs can have a variety of side effects, ranging from moderate to severe, such as allergic reactions and rashes.

asthma

headaches

nausea

vomiting

diarrhoea.

Herbal medicine, like other prescription medications, should only be prescribed by a skilled and certified practitioner. Request a list of members in your area from the professional association for your chosen therapy.

What is Pharmeteucial medicine?

Drugs and operations are used in modern medicine to help and cure a patient's sickness or solve an issue.
Pharmaceuticals are substances that are used to diagnose, cure, or prevent disease, as well as to restore, rectify, or modify organic functions. (For more information, see the pharmaceutical industry.)

Ancient Chinese, Hindu, and Mediterranean civilizations all have records of therapeutic plants and minerals. Galen and other ancient Greek physicians employed a wide range of medications in their work. The pharmaceutical practice began to expand fast in the 16th century AD after Western medicine awoke from its long slumber during the Dark and Middle Ages. The first pharmacopoeia (a catalogue of medications and their preparations) was published in Germany in 1546, and the profession of pharmacy is thought to have originated in 1400.

Side effects of Pharmeteucial medicine

Any medication, whether it's a prescription drug, an over-the-counter (OTC) drug, an alternative, herbal, or complementary therapy, or a vitamin supplement, can cause side effects.

The medicine maker must list all known side effects to gain approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or an equivalent agency in another country.

Adverse reactions must be reported, studied in human clinical trials, and documented in the patient information leaflet (PIL). When pharmaceuticals and medical devices are sold to the general public, the PIL is included.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) encourages people to report side effects from drugs.

Adverse consequences are possible.

The following are some instances of modest drug-related side effects:

Insomnia

The following are some examples of more serious consequences:

Abnormal heartbeats

Why herbal medicine is better than pharmeteucial Medicine?

Herbal therapy is a holistic treatment that takes into account emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Any naturopathic approach includes lifestyle, emotional, mental, and spiritual concerns. Herbal medicine does not usually have "drug-like" effects or side effects. Medicinal plants are commonly used and thought to be harmless, however, they can be harmful. When medical plant poisoning has been documented, it is usually due to misidentification of the plants in the form in which they are sold, or improper preparation and administration by untrained persons.

Personal Opinion :

Personally, I have been using herbal medicines as I have come to know that herbal medicines have fewer side effects and do not damage your organs and If prescribed properly will solve the issue and will result in good health. Think of herbal medicine not as medicine but as a food supplement.

Pros of Herbal medicine:

1. No major side effects

2. Does not damage your organ

3. Works on the whole body means like if your taking medicine of heart it will also work for brain

4. Good in the long run

Cons of Herbal medicine:

1. Does not work instantly

2. Takes 1 to 2 months to see results

3. Slow process but beneficial in the long run

4. If not prescribed properly can lead to problems like high blood pressure, diabetes, constipation etc.
